Born the son of a bus conductor, he became the world’s best internet marketer, and today he and his company help businesses and individuals in marketing, digitalization, and technology transformation.

Rio was born into a multi-ethnic family. His late Muslim father was born to a pedicab driver in Nogosari village - Indonesia who started his career as a bus conductor.

His childhood was characterized by strict discipline geared towards becoming a badminton athlete. He actively participated in physical training for 5 hours every day.

During his teenage years, one of his brothers took him to an internet cafe and this was the beginning of his interest in computers and the internet. He created his first website selling DVDs & magic tools.

After finishing school, he decided to retire from athletics, went to the capital and became a salesman. He became one of the outstanding young salesmen.

While doing business, he pursued his education at the Indonesian campus - Binus University. Besides formal education, he also took additional disciplines including financial literacy, Startup School from Y Combinator USA, and an online program on Artificial Intelligence from HarvardX.

Discipline in the world of athletes, mindset and forging from the world of door to door sales, education in the world of computers to his success in the world of internet marketing makes Rio a figure of entrepreneurs and business consultants who have a broad and sharp perspective in today’s modern era.

Company

With his achievements in the digital marketing world in 2015, many individuals from overseas and Indonesia began to contact Rio Gunawan through Facebook to learn how he managed to achieve such success.

Although he consistently declined these requests, it wasn’t until a company executive contacted him to offer an opportunity as an Advisor in the company that he realized that his knowledge and experience could impact growth.

Seeing this, his friends encouraged and invited him to set up a marketing consulting firm in 2016. This initiative formed the basis of DigitalEntrepreneur.co.id & Kapitali, which eventually came under one name, Vuturi.

Giving Back

From 2016 until today Rio & Company is committed to making a positive impact on others through social assistance every year.
